Where the Measurable — Meets the Magic
I have never lived
in only one world.
My mind has always reached
beneath the surface
looking for the why
humming quietly inside the feeling.
There is comfort
in the measurable.
In knowing my nervous system
is not betraying me
only speaking
in a language
I was never taught to translate.
Science steadies me.
It names the storms.
Maps the wiring.
Places gentle structure
around sensations
that once felt far too large to hold.
It reminds me
kindly
there is nothing here that needs fixing.
Only… understanding.
And yet
there is another part of me
that refuses to live
by data alone.
The part that notices
when a tarot card lands
with uncanny tenderness.
The part that feels meaning ripple
through small coincidences
like light
through water.
The part that knows
before knowing how it knows.
Spirituality, for me,
is not escape.
It is breath.
It is the soft glow
at the edge of logic.
The quiet shimmer
that makes this human experience
feel less like survival
and more like something
gently sacred.
Science holds my structure.
Spirituality holds my wonder.
One grounds my feet
firmly to the earth
steady, certain, real.
The other lets my inner world
bloom in colours
no instrument
could ever fully capture.
And somewhere
in the meeting place
between proof
and mystery
I am learning
to live gently.
Not choosing.
Not dividing.
Not forcing myself
to be only one kind of mind.
Just… allowing.
Allowing the evidence.
Allowing the unknown.
Allowing the beautiful, contradictory truth
that I can be deeply logical —
and still feel the universe
wink at me
sometimes.
In my life,
they do not cancel each other out.
They soften each other.
And in that softening
I have finally begun
to feel whole.
