I Was Always Here

By

I Was Always Here

I stood before you all,
looking for where I belonged,
searching every face
for a place that felt like home.

But nothing settled right.
With all of you, it felt wrong.

I wandered through life
alone and confused,
asking myself quietly:

Where am I meant to be?
Who am I, underneath all of this?

The answers never came,
only questions that stayed.

I searched and I searched
for somewhere that felt safe,
but no space would hold me
without something shifting inside.

I grew tired.
Sad.
Afraid.

I thought I was failing
at a life I didn’t understand.

But still,
the sun would find me.

A quiet kind of hope
that refused to leave.

So I kept going,
even when I couldn’t see why,
trusting something in me
knew the answers would come.

And they did.

In words that finally clicked,
in meanings that made sense
of everything I had felt.

I was never in the wrong place.

I was never lost.

I was always
meant to be me.
