No one told me that feeling okay
would feel this quiet.
I’m sat working on Reels and essays
and I feel nothing.
No anxiety.
No sadness.
No excitement.
Nothing.
But it isn’t nothing.
Because when a little blue tit
landed on the bird feeder outside my window,
it pulled me out of myself
in the most wonderful ADHD moment.
I went closer.
I noticed its colours,
its tiny feet,
the way it moved.
I smiled.
I said out loud
that I wished my daughter was here
because it’s her favourite bird.
I was in that moment.
That is what okay is.
I came back to my work.
Sat quietly.
And realised…
it wasn’t nothing I was feeling.
It was contentment.
Peace.
A quiet sense of being at one with myself.
Okay is not fireworks.
Not intensity.
Not the extremes I was used to.
It is just… being.
It’s taking time to trust this feeling.
Because part of me is still waiting
for something big to erupt.
But it doesn’t.
And maybe it doesn’t need to.
Peace and clarity
are things I never thought I would have.
And now they’re here—
quietly.
Be kind to yourself today, and remember to look for the beauty. 🤍
